A few months ago, a prominent supplier to the semiconductor industry said it was interested in setting up shop in Williamson County but was waiting to see if it would receive tax incentives. That question’s been answered in the affirmative, and Soulbrain Holdings is moving forward on what could be a 0 million plant. The plant will be a phosphoric acid factory. The product is used by Samsung in the chip production process. Samsung is building a massive plant in Taylor as part of a planned  billion investment there and in North Austin.

The plant will be built on an 85-acre parcel the company purchased at the RCR Taylor Logistics Park. The incentives provide the company with a 25% abatement of the taxable value of both real and business personal property for two phases of development over a 10-year period. The minimum taxable value for each phase will be $100 million over the course of 10 years.

In return, Soulbrain is required to invest $175 million in the first phase of the facility and complete it in 2029, and $400 million in the second phase and complete it by 2033.
